A statement on Genetically Modified foods: Are they friend or foe? As our world develops and expands, the dependence on Genetically Modified (GM) food becomes more and more prevalent. There are certain environmental issues that surface with the initiation of growing GM foods, such as harm to other organisms, reduced effectiveness of pesticides, and a potential benefit to non specified targets. In my project, I am presenting the two sides of the GM controversy. On one side, a large, perfectly delicious looking strawberry represents the pros of Genetically Modified foods. On the other end, the chimeric creature: part strawberry, part poisonous snake, represents the fears of GM foods, possible gene mutation and negative side effects.
